Behind the design: Pride Round
Pride round is a celebration of diversity and inclusivity within the game and community. It aims to build awareness and understanding of what it means to be inclusive with all diverse sexualities and genders.
This year, for the first time, centrals will have a pride jersey when taking the field on the weekend.
4 designs were submitted to the playing group for voting, where they were asked to consider what the pride round meant to them and vote for a design they felt resonated with them and would be proud running out onto the field in.
The chosen design is called freedom.

It stands for the freedom to be who you are, and the freedom to love the persons you choose without stigma or shame.
Encompassing the freedom to be your authentic self, Freedom takes inspiration from our native Australian Ranbow lorikeets. The Pride round rainbow is depicted in a unique way to show th action of taking flight to be your true self, an dportrays a forward direction movement to show the positve growth we are seeing towards awareness and inclusivity with the LGBTQ community.
